When the Pierer Mobility Group purchased GasGas back in 2019, uniting three powerhouse brands in the off-road world alongside KTM and Husqvarna, it certainly piqued interest as to which direction the GasGas brand would go.
With KTM long standing certifiable titans in both the dirt and tarmac sectors, and Husqvarna releasing their own brand of road legal machinery in 2018 it’s no surprise GasGas would follow the lead of their new brothers in arms. After all, they now have access to an extensive wealth of knowledge and models of which to base their own.
The word on the street for 2022 then, is GasGas’ very own road legal motorcycle offering, adding to their already comprehensive collection.
The GasGas ES700 and SM700 are slated to be released in 2022, utilising their new partnership the bikes will borrow from the already established and much loved KTM 690 Enduro R (above) and 690 SMC R respectively and adding their own red brand twist, much like Husqvana did when they developed their 701 Enduro and Supermoto bikes.
Performance wise, the ES700 and SM700 are likely to come with 74hp and 50 Ib-ft of torque, plus a steel trellis frame and rear-mounted fuel tank. What will set them apart, however, are differing WP suspension, wheels and braking systems.
Triple D Motosport will be stocking the street legal GasGas’ machines when they become available so be sure to keep checking on our website and social media platforms to get the latest info when it becomes available such as confirmed price, specs and when you can get your hands on one.
