Last weekend Newcastle's historic quayside witnessed the first-ever Red Bull TyneRide, an adrenaline-pumping enduro event that brought together some of the finest talent in the world of extreme motorsports. Among the riders, Burts Crayston managed to snag a wildcard entry after being invited by Red Bull UK, and stealing the limelight on his KTM machine.

Burts quickly made his mark by qualifying as the fastest among the wildcard entrants. Impressive times through the qualification rounds earned him a spot among the Seeded Pro riders which was a remarkable achievement for any rider, let alone a wildcard.

On to day 2 of the event and Burts continued to impress by qualifying 12th among the professional riders, despite missing a gear in one section which impacted on his overall times. Luck wasn't on Burts side with this mechanical but he wasn't going to let it get in the way of giving it his all in the subsequent heats.

In his first heat of the day Burts faced off against none other than Toby Martyn, a world-class trials rider and a force to be reckoned with in the Pro category. The competition was fierce, and although young Burts fought hard, a few too many mistakes on the course eventually saw him knocked out by Martyn.

Despite the setback, Burt's performance was nothing short of exceptional, and the atmosphere at the event was electric. Fans lined the quayside, cheering wildly as they witnessed the spectacular show of skill and daring tricks from across the field.

The Red Bull TyneRide has set a new standard for enduro events in the UK, and with its success, it’s safe to say that this won’t be the last time Newcastle hosts such an epic showdown. It's been a great weekend for Burts, and a great opportunity to show off our sport, putting in front and centre of a young and diverse crowd.

An incredible course with obstacles, jumps and ramps was laid out alongside the River Tyne under the famous Tyne Bridge.
