How good does the MC-E 5 look? With a little splash of blue in the graphics to indicate its electric drive, this mini dirt bike certainly makes a bold statement both on and off the track. And to make sure it stays that way the graphics are applied using in-mold technology - just like our full-size line-up - which means they're applied under the surface of the plastic so they'll never scratch or peel. Pretty cool, right?
All-red, all new! The vibrant bodywork on the awesome MC-E 5 is completely different, much improved from an ergonomic point of view, but as red and awesome looking as it's always been. We've scaled down the red plastics found on our full size motocross models to fit the MC-E 5, meaning young riders will find this little dirt bike so much easier to ride now. This allows them to take advantage of the incredible riding experience and do what they do best without getting as tired.
Being battery-powered, the MC-E 5 produces next to zero noise and no carbon emissions! For both these reasons, this miniature motocross bike can be ridden for hours and hours. And because the battery is easy to replace, swapping it out for a fully charged spare means the fun never stops! Otherwise, you can expect an 80% recharge in just under an hour. What's more, the electric motor removes the need for a clutch or gearbox, which makes things a lot simpler for young kids just starting out.
Supple suspension means maximum comfort, which results in more laps without getting tired! Knowing that every bump will be soaked up with ease is great for all kids' confidence. And to highlight just how much of a proper motocross bike the MC-E 5 really is, the WP suspension can be adjusted easily. This means that riders of all shapes and sizes can experiment with settings to suit their speed and style and create a perfect set-up. The WP shock has it all going on with the preload, high and low speed compression, and rebound all easy to fine-tune. At the front of the bike, the 35mm WP XACT forks feature an air spring, so creating an ideal setting couldn't be any easier, especially as each bike includes the pump you'll need to get the job done quickly.
Redesigned to work as one with the electric drivetrain, as well as being engineered with refined flex characteristics, the new frame really transforms how the MC-E 5 feels on track. It's super stable, just as it was before, but now it's even easier to ride, especially through corners. The positioning of the upper shock mount has also been changed, to make sure the performance of the WP shock is even more sensitive for maximum comfort.
For the true beginners out there, being able to touch the ground is really important, which is precisely why the MC-E 5 is built with an adjustable seat height. This also allows riders to continue shredding on the same dirt bike as they grow in both size and confidence. The lowest seat height setting is 634mm but changing the MC-E 5 to its tallest option of 682mm couldn't be any easier. Simply drop the WP forks through the clamps and relocate where the shock is mounted. And that's it! If a further height reduction is needed however, our Suspension Lowering Kit is readily available as a Technical Accessory.
To make sure the fun lasts for longer, the MC-E 5 motor is now water cooled with the new cooling system. So now the little 5kW motor stays within its ideal temperature range, which means no loss of power. The motor is pretty much maintenance-free too, thanks largely to its dust and water-resistant design, which means more time can be spent riding with less time spent prepping in the garage!
Some call this a multifunctional instrument, but we like to call it the Control Center! It's where you can toggle through and activate one of the six pre-installed ride modes based on rider ability, from pure beginner all the way through to those competing in the European Junior e-Motocross Series. Then when it comes to safety, if you wanted to make sure that courageous kids can't change the ride mode themselves, to a faster option for example, a dongle under the seat can be used to lock the selected ride mode in place. Also, with a quick glance at the Control Center screen you'll be able to see the remaining battery level, too.
We've equipped the MC-E 5 with the best battery on the market. Made up from a total of 84 modern lithium ion cells that are all safely housed inside a robust die-cast case, the battery fits neatly inside the frame, just above the motor. Storing 907Wh of energy is good for two hours of riding for a beginner or 30 minutes for riders that rip in the highest ride mode (6). The integrated Battery Management System (BMS) ensures safety and longevity for the battery pack, too. Making things easy for everyone is the 110-230 Volt worldwide charger. Quick and simple to plug in and restore power, the MC-E 5 can be charged from 0 to 80% in just under an hour. But the best way to make sure the fun doesn't stop is to take a spare, fully charged battery wherever you go as swapping batteries is super easy, and really quick to do with just a handful of basic tools.
Mistakes happen while learning to ride, which is all part of the learning experience, right? But to make things as safe as possible, the MC-E 5 has a roll-over sensor that stops the motor if the bike hits the deck.
Hydraulic brakes and wavey discs front and rear mean the MC-E 5 has serious stopping power. And to set youngsters up for their lifetime on two wheels, the rear brake is operated by foot, just like all of our big bikes.
Because some kids just wanna send it, we've kitted the MC-E 5 out with strong and reliable wheels in 12'' and 10'' sizes. Featuring super cool, lightweight black anodized aluminum rims, the MAXXIS tires provide maximum traction on any riding surface.
When youngsters feel confident and in control, that's when they have the most fun! That's precisely why we've fitted high quality, tapered aluminum NEKEN handlebars that have a thinner diameter. Oh, and thinner, child specific ODI lock-on grips, too. This proven combo allows kids to get a real grasp of their MC-E 5, which inspires confidence and helps to reduce tiredness as they don't need to hold on as tight. There's also a new throttle assembly designed specifically for electric motors. So now, the connection between the throttle and the rear wheel is much, much more instant.
